How to choose a server
Choose an XConnect location for speed, latency, websites, streaming and permitted P2P.
Choose a server by latency and the region you need, not only by the country name. For most users, automatic selection is the best starting point because it removes the need to find a working location manually.
Quick choice
Not sure what to choose — use “⚡ Auto | 10 Gbps”.
Need the lowest latency — try the nearest country first, then compare it with automatic selection.
Need a country-specific website or service — choose a server in that country.
Need P2P — use only “Switzerland TORRENTS AUTO” and only for lawful content.
What AUTO means
A location marked AUTO automatically chooses an available node within the selected country or pool. If a country has several nodes, reconnecting may route you to a different available server.
“⚡ Auto | 10 Gbps” is the general high-capacity pool and the recommended default. The 10 Gbps label describes the pool class; it does not guarantee that speed on one device. Your ISP, route, server load and Wi‑Fi all affect the result.
Europe
Netherlands AUTO — a general-purpose location for websites, video, cloud services and everyday use, with a good balance of speed and access to European resources.
Poland AUTO — well suited to Central and Eastern Europe, calls, messaging and other latency-sensitive tasks.
Finland AUTO — often useful in Northern and North-Eastern Europe; test it for calls, games and interactive services.
Germany AUTO — a stable general-purpose option for work, browsing, video and European services.
Estonia AUTO and Latvia — good choices for the Baltic states and nearby regions when a short route and low latency matter.
France AUTO — for French and Western European services, websites and media.
Sweden AUTO — a useful backup European route and an option for Scandinavian services.
United Kingdom — for websites and media services that require a UK IP address.
Austria — a general Central European route and a useful alternative to Germany.
Romania — a backup European location when nearby or automatic servers provide an inefficient route.
North America
USA AUTO — for American websites, services and content. Latency from Europe and Asia is normally higher, so compare it with a nearby European location for games and calls.
Asia and nearby regions
Singapore AUTO — for South-East Asian services. AUTO selects an available node; the regular “Singapore” entry lets you stay with a fixed location.
India — for Indian websites and services. Connections from Europe will usually have noticeably higher latency.
Turkey — for Turkish websites, services and regional content, or as an alternative to European routes.
Kazakhstan — for Kazakh and Central Asian services and for users located closer to Central Asia.
P2P and torrents
The dedicated “Switzerland TORRENTS AUTO” location is intended for permitted P2P traffic. Do not use regular servers for P2P. Users are responsible for complying with the law and copyright rules.
How to find the best server
Start with “⚡ Auto | 10 Gbps” and test the websites and apps you actually use.
If latency matters, try two or three nearby countries and compare responsiveness in the real application.
If a service requires a particular region, select a server in that country.
If speed is low, reconnect: AUTO may choose a different node.
After the server list changes, refresh your subscription or configuration in the app.
Important
The geographically closest country is not always the fastest. Your ISP route and current server load may matter more than distance. The list and availability of locations may change.
